Title: Inventory Analyst 3
Location: On-site in Seguin, TX (Hybrid: 2–3 days in office/week)
Duration: 12-month contract with potential for extension
Pay Rate: $24/hour (W2) or $28/hour (C2C)
Summary:
This is a critical backfill role supporting material planning and production for Caterpillar’s Power Generation and SEG teams. The Inventory Analyst ensures timely part delivery, drives inventory reduction, improves on-time delivery, and supports operational continuity through effective supplier coordination and planning.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage material flow and ensure timely delivery of materials to production lines
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to reduce inventory and improve delivery
- Analyze part schedules and convert requirements into appropriate actions
- Support production planning by ensuring part availability at point of use
- Apply root cause analysis to resolve quality or supplier performance issues
- Support engineering changes and forecast improvements
Top Priorities in the First 90 Days:
- Take initiative and build strong communication with suppliers and internal teams
- Demonstrate Excel proficiency in planning and reporting tasks
Required
Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or inventory planning
- Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Industrial Engineering
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Knowledge of MRP systems (training provided)
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
Nice to Have:
- Experience with material control, parts distribution, purchasing, or transportation/logistics
- Familiarity with tools like Log Net and MTS systems
Work Environment &
Schedule:
- On-site at the Seguin Engine Assembly Plant
- Flexible schedule around 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM (40 hours/week)
- Office-based, adjacent to production floor
- Daily collaboration with production and planning teams
