Overview
Niagara Bottling is looking for a Maintenance Technician to support our Night Shift operations. The team plays a key role in ensuring equipment uptime and supporting our goal of delivering high‑quality, affordable bottled water.
ResponsibilitiesThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining production equipment, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide variety of machinery and facility equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair injection molders, blow molders, fillers/cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, and stretch wrappers.
- Troubleshoot and repair auxiliary equipment such as chillers, air compressors, reverse osmosis units, and water filtration systems.
- Collaborate with machine operators, supervisors, preventative maintenance mechanics, and senior maintenance technicians to resolve mechanical issues during shift.
- Propose solutions to complex recurring problems to senior mechanics and management.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics, technical drawings, and testing equipment.
- Repair equipment, fixtures, systems, conveyors, and other facility equipment.
- Modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment in accordance with Niagara’s processes.
- Maintain industrial control systems and ensure compliance with safety rules.
- Complete required work order paperwork and report repairs throughout the shift.
- Work independently and with others to complete repairs in a safe and timely manner.
- May assist as a production operator when needed.
- Maintain regular attendance to support equipment and facility uptime.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4 years experience in a field or similar maintenance environment.
- 4 years experience in the same position.
- 4 years experience managing people/projects.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and resolve issues across multiple departments.
- Basic experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
- Proficiency with shop equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical presses, bench grinder, drill press, mill, lathe, and assorted power tools.
- Proficiency with precision measuring equipment such as calipers, dial indicators, and gauges.
- Willingness to lead and train in a specific plant or machine center area.
- Own toolbox and basic tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6 years experience in a field or similar manufacturing environment.
- 6 years experience in the same position.
- 6 years experience managing people/projects.
- Experience in high‑speed manufacturing, bottling, beverage, packaging, or plastics industries.
- Experience with VFDs, servo drives, rotary equipment, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and plastics processing.
- Knowledge of Krones, Sidel, or Husky equipment.
- Experience with HVAC including chillers and air compressors.
- Familiarity with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
- Fabrication skills including cutting and welding (MIG, TIG, stick).
- Experience with 480
VAC & 24
VDC power systems. - Experience with communication systems and PLC input/output cards.
