This Registered Nurse (RN) will work within the Youth Therapeutic Respite Program, which provides therapeutic respite services in a 10‑bed unit to children and youth between the ages of 5 and 17 years old. The RN will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to support children who are at risk of crisis but do not meet the criteria for hospitalization.
Primary responsibilities include medication monitoring and administration, individual assessments, laboratory collections and interpretation of lab results, individual and family education regarding medications, health and nutrition, mental illness, and substance use. The nurse will provide care as the Charge Nurse, monitoring and participating with the children even while on the playground.
This position will be under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and the Program Director. It will operate 12‑hour day shifts (8 AM‑8 PM) with every other weekend off.

Hourly Salary Range: $43.39
- Evening shift differential of $2.00 per hour from 5 PM‑7 PM
- Overnight shift differential of $4.00 per hour after 7 PM
- Weekend shift differential of $4.00 per hour
- Overnight weekend shift differential of $6.00 per hour
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduated from an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas with at least 1‑year recent nursing experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively and be part of a multidisciplinary professional team.
- Computer literate with working knowledge of Windows/MS Office applications.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ANCC Psychiatric/Mental Health Certification or CARN certification.
- Experience working with children in psychiatric settings, with individuals with developmental disabilities, substance use disorders, and/or primary care needs.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
