Teaching Assistant

Location: Selby Salary: £88 – £110 per day Contract: Full-Time Start Date: 19 January 2026

GSL Education are recruiting a Teaching Assistant to support learners studying Hair and Beauty within a specialist Alternative Provision near Selby.

The provision offers vocational pathways alongside core subjects for pupils with SEND and SEMH needs. Practical learning, clear routines and strong staff support help learners build confidence and employability skills.

• Support pupils during Hair and Beauty theory and practical sessions
• Encourage safe working practices and engagement
• Assist with behaviour regulation and confidence building
• Work closely with vocational tutors and support staff

• Experience supporting SEND or SEMH learners
• Interest in vocational or practical learning
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
• Calm and supportive approach
• Enhanced DBS required
