The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring equipment reliability, promoting a strong safety culture, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
What you will do
* Supervise and support engineering and maintenance teams to ensure efficient daily operations.
* Plan, schedule, and oversee preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
* Monitor equipment performance and implement improvements to maximise uptime and reliability.
* Coordinate engineering projects, installations, and upgrades.
* Manage contractor activities and ensure work is completed safely and to specification.
* Provide technical guidance, coaching, and development opportunities for team members.
* Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation.
* Support root cause analysis and problem-solving activities for equipment failures.
* Manage engineering resources and materials effectively.
Essential
* Degree, Higher National Diploma (HND), or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical,
Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
* Proven experience in an engineering or maintenance supervisory role.
* Strong leadership and people management skills.
* Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems and engineering best practices.
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Desirable
* Experience with in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
* Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement training.
* Health and Safety qualification (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH).
* Experience managing engineering projects and contractors.
* BOAS trained or experience with working with boilers and live steam
