Talent Manager
Job Description Primary Purpose
This position is focused on actively recruiting diverse populations for employment opportunities within the company. Requires the ability to establish a relationship with state refugee agencies, resettlement agencies, local churches, etc. Analyzes refugee resettlement data, identifies areas that could allow for successful recruitment and determines the most effective recruitment techniques to maximize applicant flow. Requires the ability to engage potential applicants, effectively communicate opportunities available and determines if the potential applicant is qualified for the hourly positions available.
Involves assisting with the relocation process and providing ongoing support to ensure successful transition into their new job and community. Will support regional business operations and report to the Regional Human Resources Director or Director Human Resources - Operations dependent upon the region. This position requires collaboration with senior operations leaders, Complex Human Resources Managers and Employment Managers to ensure high quality applicants are being sourced with a focus on retention and long-term growth.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Identify and recruit applicants for various positions within the company.
- Represent the company at job fairs, recruitment events and community meetings in partnership with non-profits, ESL programs, local churches, immigrant support groups, etc.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with refugee resettlement agencies, state and local workforce boards and community leaders to bolster the applicant flow of qualified applicants.
- Collaborate with the Employment teams to assist in the transition of applicants to candidates for the various hourly positions available in the complex.
- Coordinate with site Human Resources teams to understand labor needs and align recruitment efforts accordingly.
- Coordinate and assist with the relocation process. Collaborate with housing providers, transportation services, etc., and support other logistical needs.
- Support the candidate as they transition to Mountaire. Provide cultural and communication assistance during pre-employment and hiring processes.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Human Resources or a related field with an emphasis on recruitment ideally within the poultry/agriculture industry preferred.
- Previous experience working with immigrants and refugees is highly desirable.
- Strong communication (both verbal and written), organizational and interpersonal skills required.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills are highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience working with refugee/immigrant populations or underserved communities.
- Strong understanding of poultry/agricultural processing environments and the demands of hourly, shift-based labor roles.
- Must be proficient in English.
- Will require significant local travel.
