Substitute Teacher – BBCF Head Start
Make a difference - one day at a time. Join the Black Belt Community Foundation's (BBCF) Head Start program and help shape young minds while supporting your local community. As a Substitute Teacher, you'll step into the classroom when needed to lead engaging lessons, nurture curiosity, and provide children with a safe and supportive learning environment.
Whether you're an experienced educator or just beginning your teaching journey, this role offers flexibility, purpose, and the chance to impact lives - every time you step in.
What You'll Do:
Implement age‑appropriate lesson plans that promote children's growth in all developmental areas.
Create a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
Support children's learning and well‑being in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards.
Build positive relationships with families and help strengthen community connections.
Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with program guidelines.
What We're Looking For:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (Bachelor's preferred).
At least 2 years of experience working with young children, preferably in a Head Start or preschool setting.
A caring and patient approach, with strong communication and classroom management skills.
Commitment to teamwork, flexibility, and professionalism.
