Overview

RAD TECH (ARRT) PRN -

Vaughan Regional Medical Center

• Staff the department at all times; most of the time the technologist is assigned to set hours but hours can change if the need arises.
• Typical day includes: portable chest radiograph in the ER, fluoroscopy in the early morning, operating a C-arm in surgery, taking multiple films on a trauma patient in the ER, assisting to move an immobile patient to a procedure table, performing portable chest radiographs on a newborn in the nursery, and sometimes staying over to assist the next shift if patient backlog occurs.
• Cross-train to perform other modalities when or if the need arises.

• Education: Graduate of Radiologic Technology program. Registered or registry-eligible with the ARRT within 6 months of hire date.
  BLS certification required within first 60 days of employment.
• Experience
  :
• One (1) year experience preferred; but not required.
• Skills: Ability to work independently, flexibility, and good communication ability.

Physical Requirements
:
Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods, walk at least 5 hours per day, lift/carry 15 pounds, hear alarms and telephone rings, distinguish colors, perform repetitive tasks/motions, have good eye/hand/foot coordination, and have clear vision at 20 or more feet with or without vision corrective device.
