Overview

Respiratory Therapists RRT PRN - INT- at Vaughan Regional Medical Center.

Performs duties involved with the treatment, management, diagnostic evaluation and care of patients with deficiencies and/or abnormalities with the cardiopulmonary system. Under the supervision of the Respiratory Care Director and upon the request of the physician, provides the delivery of any respiratory modalities to all demographic groups in any clinical area. Completes all required documentation. Must be able to demonstrate the clinical ability to function as RT in any area to which assigned.

• Performs duties involved with the treatment, management, diagnostic evaluation and care of patients with deficiencies and/or abnormalities with the cardiopulmonary system.
• Under supervision of the Respiratory Care Director and upon physician request, delivers respiratory modalities to all demographic groups in any clinical area.
• Completes all required documentation.
• Demonstrates clinical ability to function as RT in assigned areas.
• Upholds the values of Vaughan Regional Medical Center.

Education: Graduate of a Respiratory Therapy Program preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent. Must hold a current Alabama State Licensure or a temporary license. Certification of Registry preferred.

Experience: One year of hospital experience preferred.

Skills: Ability to assess respiratory status and administer prescribed respiratory treatments and interventions accurately and efficiently. ACLS, BLS, and PALS certification required (must be obtained within 90 days of hire date); NRP certification preferred.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods, walk at least 12 hours per day, lift/carry 20 pounds, hear alarms and telephone rings, distinguish colors, perform repetitive tasks/motions including bending and kneeling, have good eye/hand/foot coordination, and have clear vision at 20 feet or more with or without corrective devices.
