Plant Superintendent – Selma, AL at Lear Corporation

Role OverviewAs a member of the production team, the Plant Superintendent will coordinate the activities involved with production of Lear's products, performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors and team leaders.
Responsibilities- Manage subordinate supervisors and team leaders who supervise production employees.
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
- Fulfill supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Train employees, plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
- Meet with multidisciplinary teams to resolve any issues.
- Foster teamwork and facilitate performance.
- Manage production areas to achieve plant objectives such as efficiency, productivity, zero rejects, on‑time delivery, 5S, customer satisfaction, scrap reduction, safety, downtime, and overtime control.
- Achieve daily targets for production and inventory (WIP) according to the production control plan.
- Coach and develop production supervisors and leaders as required.
- Implement and monitor best manufacturing practices.
- Keep staff informed of weekly production requirements.
- Comply with the policies and procedures of quality, environment, and labor standards of Lear Corporation.
- Comply with the Safety, Health, and Sustainability Policy.
- Participate in safety, health, and sustainability training and campaigns.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) and at least three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Automotive experience (helpful but not required).
- Lean manufacturing experience (helpful but not required).
