DescriptionThis announcement will maintain a pool of qualified applicants for Criminal Justice, Educational Psychology, Geography, History, Political Science, Sociology, Social Work, Philosophy, and Psychology instructors. Submission of an application and our acceptance thereof does not indicate that there are positions open, and in no way obligates Northwest Mississippi Community College.
Applicants may indicate an interest in part‑time positions for all campus locations:
Senatobia (Main Campus), Oxford, and Desoto.
A Master’s Degree with a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate hours in the specific subject area is required.
Duties and Responsibilities- Teaches courses related to subject matter.
- Prepare, administer, and grade periodic tests, assignments, and/or program assessment data.
- Maintain a student attendance record as required by the Mississippi Community College Board.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attends adjunct faculty meetings and professional development workshops and training.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by District Director.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to take initiative to solve problems.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Experience using technology, Microsoft Office Suite, presentation software, etc.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact tactfully and courteously with students, faculty, staff, and the general public.
- Ability to collaborate with others and work as part of a team.
- Demonstrate oral and written communication skills to interact with a wide range of diverse individuals.
- Stand for long periods.
- Talk, hear, view, and assist students.
- Communicate with others in person, telephone, Zoom, e‑mail & live chat.
- Sit, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
- Stand, walk, stoop, or kneel.
- Occasionally lift and/or move items of at least 15–20 pounds.
