Position Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic I or II is responsible for maintaining and repairing production and facility equipment to ensure efficient and uninterrupted operations. This entry‑level mechanic role provides support to production teams by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs under the direction of senior maintenance staff.
Key Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs on production and facility equipment.
- Troubleshoot and assist with resolving mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues.
- Support equipment setup, adjustments, and minor installations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inspections.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
- Follow all GMPs, SOPs, HACCP, SQF, and company safety protocols.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe at all times.
- Provide support to senior mechanics and other team members as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance; food manufacturing preferred.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and work orders.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and different shifts as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks that involve bending, climbing, and standing for long periods.
- Work performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, and moving equipment.
- Must follow all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
