Job Summary
Performs a variety of procedures applying ionizing radiation. Performs CT scans as directed. Communicates with the physician and other work‑related personnel appropriately.

Essential Functions- All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health’s purpose:
Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. - Identifies patients and procedures; communicates with nursing or physician concerning patient. Informs nursing of patients that need IV sedation or biopsies. Fill out questionnaires on all patients between the ages of 12-55 years. Position patients accurately for all CT procedures. Ensure the room is prepared and stocked, and all supplies and linens are available. Use proper injection technique for IV contrast and verify injection integrity.
- Explains CT procedure to patient and/or family member. Obtains completed questionnaire and proper history and clinical information. Informs patients and families of all delays. Trains co‑workers and students. Assists other technologists when not busy in assigned CT room.
- Acquires requisition, checks for appropriate clinical, charges procedure supplies, and executes surgical codes. Operates the PAC’s system, verifies studies before archiving, and reports equipment problems. Communicates with radiologist to determine appropriate protocols for each exam, ensuring correct scans and protocols are used as prescribed.
- Maintains competency required for working in the CT department and performs point‑of‑care testing. Responds to codes and other emergency situations appropriately.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- This is a non‑management job that reports to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
- Education:
Certified Radiologic Technology program graduate of an accredited program. - Experience:
No experience required.
- ARRT Registered in CT
- SCRQSA certification (required for team members working in South Carolina)
- CPR certified
