American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with at least 2 years of MS/Tele experience and current EPIC proficiency for a day shift hospital assignment.

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting
• 3x12 day shift schedule, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Floating required to other units/campuses based on census needs, within demonstrated competencies
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend, subject to change based on unit needs
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Uses Omnicell medication system and EPIC for documentation

• Active SC RN license or compact RN license
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Med/Surg Tele required
• At least 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Must be able to pass an EKG exam and complete core competencies due to floating possibilities
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, peripheral and PICC line care
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care/management
• Experience with GI care including colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube management
• Experience administering Heparin, Insulin, and PCA medications
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE
• Community hospital experience preferred

• Provide care for Med/Surg patients including orthopedic, ortho trauma, and plastics cases
• Orientation held every Monday with annual compliance requirements
• Pre-assignment testing and modules required for all travelers, to be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• First-time travelers with 3+ years of specialty experience will be considered
• Travelers must be greater than 100 miles from every facility in the health system to be eligible, with reduced eligibility at 90-99.9 miles
• Night shift travelers in this specialty must be 50+ miles from the contracted campus to be eligible
• Travelers cannot extend beyond a third consecutive 13-week contract (39 weeks) without converting to employee status, or must take a minimum six-month separation before returning as a traveler
