Position: E-Mediators for Youth Violence Prevention
Become an E-Mediator with The Neighbourhood Group and engage in social media strategies to prevent youth violence. This part-time role focuses on de-escalating online incidents and monitoring trends affecting community safety.

The Neighbourhood Group is seeking two E-Mediators for their E-VIBE program within the Children & Youth Services department. This part-time contract position involves 12 hours weekly until July 2026, offering a competitive hourly rate of $29.95. The role requires leveraging social media for identifying violence risk and applying effective de-escalation techniques while engaging with local youth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete mandatory EVIBE E-Mediator training

• De-escalate online violent incidents effectively

• Identify emotional distress and bullying online

• Track emerging violence-related trends

• Facilitate community workshops on online violence prevention

Requirements:

• Expertise in major social media platforms

• Strong background in community violence

• Knowledge of Toronto’s historical context

• Effective communication and conflict resolution skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
