Your future role on our teamTo pursue project and client development in the Sept‑Îles region, BBA wants to bolster its local multidisciplinary team. Working closely with our offices in Labrador City, Montréal and Mont‑Saint‑Hilaire, this team is actively involved in developing the region and executing projects in mining and metals, and energy sectors. BBA’s automation, instrumentation and control engineering teams combine cutting‑edge technical expertise with an unrivalled commitment to operating and maintaining industrial power systems.
By joining our team, you’ll assist industrial clients in the energy and mining markets with operations, maintenance or growth projects. Your role as engineer will be to participate in engineering mandates in automation, instrumentation and control, contribute to various phases of engineering and site work, and may involve preparing proposals, technological choices and solutions proposed to clients.
With us, you’ll get the opportunity to…- Help prepare plans and specifications as well as detailed engineering deliverables (P&IDs, localization drawings, I/O, loop and motor control schemes, cable and instrument lists, installation details)
- Draft reports, specifications, including construction and purchasing specifications, and calls for tenders
- Prepare datasheets and select control instruments (flow, pressure, level) and valves
- Provide technical assistance during construction work (electrical/instrumentation)
- Perform inspections or technical surveys
- Help program PLCs, DCSs and operator interfaces
- Interact with clients and provide technical support to the team in charge of business development
- Establish and maintain client contacts

- Undergraduate degree in automated manufacturing or electrical engineering
- At least four years of relevant experience as an automation/instrumentation engineer or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Experience designing automated and control systems
- Knowledge of the Electrical Code
- Expertise in pre‑operational verifications and equipment start‑up
- Experience in control system programming (SCADA, PLC, DCS)
- Available for short‑ and long‑term assignments at client offices or sites
- Proficiency in project management, technical writing and cost estimation
- Member of a Canadian professional engineering association
- Advanced level of English to collaborate effectively with BBA offices and/or clients in English‑speaking Canadian provinces and internationally
- Advanced level of French to collaborate effectively with BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
- Asset:
Experience with DCS (Foxboro, ABB, Emerson) and networking
