Your Future Role on Our Team
To support project and client development in the Sept‑Îles region, BBA is seeking an engineer in mechanical engineering to bolster its local multidisciplinary team. This team works closely with our offices in Labrador City, Montréal and Mont‑Saint‑Hilaire and contributes to regional development and delivery of projects in the mining, metals and energy sectors. You’ll also have the opportunity to be actively involved on project sites and client work sites.

Key Responsibilities- Prepare technical documents for mandates related to heavy mechanics, conveyors, pumping systems, grinding mills and metallurgical processes, and for mechanical services engineering.
- Perform detailed calculations under the supervision of experienced engineers.
- Conduct onsite technical information surveys.
- Prepare material lists and bills of lading in accordance with codes, standards, drawings and other established procedures and within BBA’s quality system requirements.
- Assist more experienced personnel with the technical aspects of complex tasks.
- Occasionally coordinate the work of drafters or others, at the request of a senior engineer.
- Help write technical reports.
- Assist the team with technical audits at work sites.
- Help supervise the work and commissioning of designed systems.
- Help prepare proposals.
- Participate in various project phases, from studies and detailed engineering to site support and commissioning.

- Rigorous and ethical.
- University degree in mechanical engineering and membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
- Three years of experience or less.
- Availability for short‑term work assignments between Sept‑Îles and our Labrador City office, and up to 50 % of the time for short‑term and long‑term assignments with clients in Québec and the rest of Canada.
- ASP Construction card.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite, especially Excel, and experience with databases and interfaces.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Solid Works and Navisworks.
- Asset: experience in the heavy industry sector (mining, petrochemicals, energy, etc.).
- Asset: knowledge of Smart Plant 3D, CADWorx, ANSYS and Fathom.
- Asset: bilingual (English and French).
