To support project and client development in the Sept-Îles region, BBA is seeking a candidate in mechanical engineering to bolster its local multidisciplinary team. This team works closely with our offices in Labrador City, Montréal, and Mont-Saint-Hilaire and contributes to regional development and delivering projects in the mining, metals and energy sectors. You'll also have the opportunity to be actively involved on project sites and client work sites.

With a strategically located office close to our clients, you’ll have several opportunities to perform site surveys, provide technical assistance to local clients and participate in commissioning new equipment and systems while working on projects of all sizes.

• Prepare technical documents for mandates related to heavy mechanics, conveyors, pumping systems, grinding mills and metallurgical processes as well as engineering for mechanical services
• Perform detailed calculations under the supervision of experienced engineers
• Perform onsite technical information surveys
• Prepare material lists and bills of lading in accordance with codes, standards, drawings and other established procedures and within BBA’s quality system requirements
• Assist more experienced personnel with the technical aspects of complex tasks
• Occasionally coordinate the work of drafters or others, at the request of a senior engineer
• Help write technical reports
• Assist the team with technical audits at work sites
• Help supervise the work and commissioning of designed systems
• Help prepare proposals
• Participate in various project phases, from studies and detailed engineering to site support and commissioning

• University degree in mechanical engineering and a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
• Three years of experience or less
• Available for short-term work assignments between Sept-Îles and our Labrador City office, depending on business needs
• Available for short-term (up to 50% of the time) and long-term (asset) assignments with our clients in Québec and the rest of Canada
• ASP Construction card
• Excellent knowledge of MSOffice Suite, like Excel, and other applications, databases and interfaces
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Solid Works and Navisworks applications
• Asset: experience in the heavy industry sector (mining, petrochemicals, energy, etc.)
• Asset: knowledge of Smart Plant 3D, CADWorx, ANSYS and Fathom applications
