Job SummaryClaim Advocates handle the claim process from beginning to end, working closely with clients, insurance carriers, adjusters, claimants and the underwriting department. They apply company policies to complete tasks and possess basic knowledge of insurance principles.
Responsibilities- Assist clients in reporting and monitoring Commercial & Personal lines claims, including taking initial loss notice and communicating with insured parties.
- Conduct initial reviews of claims for coverage questions, review denial of coverage accuracy, and act as liaison between insured and adjuster.
- Serve as contact for Adjuster and Insured on claim‑related issues.
- Refer complex coverage questions to Risk Manager.
- Secure loss runs from carriers and prepare claims information for presentations.
- Resolve customer claim issues with Account Executives and Producers to reduce E&O exposure.
- Provide claim packets to customers and prospects.
- Read policy forms, understand coverage, and question carriers when necessary.
- Evaluate and challenge claim reserves according to industry knowledge.
- Cooperate with counsel for suit or trial.
- Active Property & Casualty license or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet time‑based goals.
- Team player mindset to achieve group objectives.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- EPIC experience is a plus.
- High School Diploma;
Associate degree or higher preferred. - Minimum 3+ years of claims experience.
The base compensation range for this position is $23,000 - $28,000, adjusted for skills, experience, location, and internal equity.
On‑Site PresenceCandidates should be comfortable with an on‑site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross‑functional partnership.
