Jamestown Healing Clinic (JHC) is seeking a proactive and experienced Security Manager to lead our security team in creating a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment for our patients and staff.
The RoleThe Security Manager is responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment by leading a proactive security team that actively engages with patients and staff. The Security Manager ensures guards are trained and confident in assessing situations, intervening early, and supporting patients in following clinic rules. The Security Manager fosters a culture of safety through daily interaction, guidance, and risk assessment.
EssentialFunctions
- Plan, direct, and coordinate security initiatives to safeguard patients, employees, and the JHC property; ensure processes are in place to protect against harassment, threats, or violence to patients and employees.
- Promote a supportive approach to security that balances enforcement with patient success, emphasizing de‑escalation and constructive engagement rather than passive observation.
- Collaborates with security guards and other clinical staff to actively assess situations, intervene early, and prevent minor issues from escalating, thereby supporting patients in successfully following clinic policies and procedures.
- Ensure security guards are trained, mentored, and comfortable performing visual risk assessments, enforcing rules respectfully, and interacting with patients daily to maintain a therapeutic environment.
- Implement and manage all security policies, programs, and procedures to ensure compliance with licensing requirements, and applicable State and Federal security requirements.
- Supervise all security personnel; oversee all safety and patient‑support training requirements, coach, and mentor guards to build confidence in daily patient interactions and conduct performance reviews that emphasize proactive engagement and early intervention.
- Maintain good rapport with patients by encouraging guards to interact consistently and constructively, reinforcing clinic rules in ways that support patient success and minimize disruptions.
- Responsible for ensuring physical examinations of property to ensure compliance with safety and security policies and regulations. Collect and analyze security data to determine security needs, security program goals, or program accomplishments; communicate with the JHC Leadership Team on internal investigations, losses, or violations of safety and security regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Develop and maintain controls for an integrated security system to ensure confidentiality, accountability, recoverability, and audit ability of sensitive, proprietary information.
- Perform routine analysis and evaluate security operations to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Design schedule for Security Guards. Ensure that all security posts are properly staffed, and that relief is provided when necessary.
- Develop and collaborate with clinic leadership to facilitate security related training for staff such as de‑escalation training, fire drills, active shooter drills, new employee security orientations.
- Maintain good rapport with JHC patients, staff, and leadership to create a safe, therapeutic environment and culture of healing.
- Associate’s degree in a relevant field of study.
- Five (5) years of managerial experience within a comparable professional setting.
- Two (2) years of direct experience working as a Security Guard or comparable position.
- Knowledge of current State and Federal requirements for safety and security measures.
- Experience using security software and applicable safety and security equipment/systems.
- Skillful at writing technical security related reports such as incident reports.
- Excellent organization skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Effective time management, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills.
- Exceptional personal and ethical boundaries, empathy, and effective communications skills.
- Ability to work in a cross‑culture environment, understands the social and cultural context of the patients utilizing the JHC.
