Job Description

We are seeking an inspiring, dynamic, and strategic educational leader to join our campus leadership team as the Deputy Head of School
.

Working closely with the Head of School/ Principal, you will play a central role in driving academic excellence, operational efficiency, staff development, and student well-being. The successful candidate will champion continuous school improvement, support the delivery of international curricula and nurture positive relationships across our vibrant community of students,educators, and parents.

Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic & Operational School Leadership

Partner with the Head of School to implement the school’s strategic plan, institutional KPIs, and campus improvement initiatives at Upper Serangoon Road.

  • Maintain high standards of institutional governance and compliance with Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA) regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee daily campus operations, scheduling, resource management, and safety protocols to ensure a safe, efficient learning environment.
  • Act as the primary campus authority in the absence of the Head of School.
2. Academic Excellence & Curriculum Innovation

Drive high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment across all grade levels in line with the school's international curriculum standards.

  • Promote digital integration, AI literacy, and inquiry-based pedagogical practices in classrooms.
  • Lead academic quality audits, student performance tracking, and continuous curriculum reviews to ensure academic progression and student growth.
3. Staff Development, Coaching & Culture

Lead, mentor, and evaluate academic heads, subject specialists, and administrative staff.

  • Design and execute professional development frameworks to continually upgrade teaching capabilities and leadership pipelines within the school.
  • Cultivate a collaborative, positive, and inclusive school culture that attracts, motivates, and retains high-caliber educators.
4. Pastoral Care & Student Life

Direct student support frameworks, including pastoral care, positive discipline, counseling services, and co-curricular activities (CCA).

  • Establish a caring, safe environment that emphasizes student mental wellness, diversity, and character development.
5. Parent & Community Engagement

Serve as a key liaison for parent inquiries, community partnerships, and school events.

  • Strengthen the home-school partnership through transparent, regular communication and active engagement.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field. A Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) or equivalent international teaching credential is required.
Experience:
  • Minimum 8–10 years of teaching and educational management experience, preferably within international schools or private educational institutions in Singapore.
  • At least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., Vice Principal, Head of Department, Assistant Head of School).
  • Compensation will commensurate with experience
Key

Competencies:
  • In-depth understanding of international curriculum frameworks (e.g., Cambridge, IB, or equivalent) and Singapore's Private Education Institution (PEI) regulatory landscape.
  • Proven track record in staff mentorship, curriculum development, and school operations.
  • Outstanding communication, public speaking, and crisis-management abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage constructively with a diverse, international community of parents and educators.
