About the role
We are seeking a Retail Assistant to join our client in the Serangoon North-East Region. This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity for those looking to start or develop their career in retail, with no prior experience necessary. You will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining store operations, contributing directly to the success of our retail business.
The position offers a competitive salary of up to $2,200 plus variable bonus

- Provide friendly, professional and efficient customer service to all shoppers
- Assist customers in locating products and answering their questions about merchandise
- Process customer transactions at the point of sale using cash registers and payment systems
- Maintain store cleanliness, organisation and visual merchandising standards
- Stock shelves and replenish inventory in a timely and orderly manner
- Support inventory management and stock taking activities
- Ensure compliance with store policies and health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and store objectives
- Handle customer enquiries and complaints professionally and courteously
- No prior retail experience required; we welcome candidates keen to learn and grow in the retail sector
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour
- Strong communication abilities and the capacity to interact effectively with diverse customers
- Reliability and commitment to punctuality and consistent attendance
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced retail environment
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift merchandise as required
- Basic numeracy skills for handling cash and processing transactions
- Willingness to follow instructions and adapt to changing store requirements
- Previous retail, hospitality or customer-facing experience would be advantageous
