Multi Skilled Operative – Tarmac Dry Rigg Quarry, Settle

We are looking for a Multi Skilled Operative to join our friendly team based at Tarmac Dry Rigg Quarry, Settle, North Yorkshire.
The role is easily accessible for those living in Bentham, Ingleton, Skipton, Barnoldswick, Clitheroe and surrounding areas. We are working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.
- Work with other members of the team to ensure that customers receive good quality material and on‑time deliveries.
- Operate mobile plant including excavator, rigid and articulated dump trucks and loading shovel.
- Assist with meeting daily and weekly production targets.
- Ensure plant conforms with safety requirements at all times.
- Follow Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures, inspect plant and act on defects, implementing remedial action.
- Assist in the maintenance regime of the plant.
- Maximise plant availability.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards around the site.
- Proven experience in a similar aggregates environment or an industrial or factory environment as an operative or labourer.
- Good communication skills and a real desire to develop both operative and supervisory skills.
- Knowledge of the industry, plant and ideally of quarrying.
- Previous experience in mobile plant operations preferred.
- Flexible and able to work as part of an effective Multiskilled Operative team.
- Self‑motivated and able to motivate other colleagues.
- Knowledge of risk assessments within the role of operative.
- Knowledge of SSOW (HIRA) and permit systems – preferred but not essential.
- Compliance with company policies, targets, goals and standards.
- Good timekeeping – flexible to unit requirements.
- Full UK driving licence.
- IT literate.
- Experience with shovel/ADT/excavator preferred.
- Shovel licence and mobile plant tickets – desirable but not essential.
