Stand Alone Credit Controller Harrogate or Huddersfield Competitive Salary Benefits The Opportunity Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be supporting a well-established and growing Yorkshire-based manufacturing business in the search for a Credit Controller to join their finance team. This is a standalone Credit Control position, offering the opportunity to take ownership of the sales ledger function and play a key role in supporting cash flow, customer account management, and the ongoing development of credit control processes within a fast-paced operational environment.
The business supplies a range of high-profile customers across the retail, wholesale, and commercial sectors and is currently experiencing an exciting period of growth and transformation.
Key Responsibilities Managing and maintaining a portfolio of customer accounts. Proactively chasing outstanding debt via telephone and email. Monitoring aged debt and ensuring timely collection of payments. Investigating and resolving invoice queries, deductions, pricing disputes, and account discrepancies. Allocating customer receipts and maintaining accurate sales ledger records. Reconciling customer accounts and resolving variances. Producing aged debt reports and providing updates to management.
Supporting month-end debtor reporting and account reconciliations. Working closely with Commercial, Customer Service, Operations, and Finance teams to resolve account issues. Identifying opportunities to improve credit control processes and procedures. Building strong relationships with both customers and internal stakeholders. About You Previous experience within a Credit Control or Accounts Receivable position is essential. Comfortable managing your own ledger and working independently.
Experience with in manufacturing, FMCG, wholesale, distribution, or a high-volume transactional environment would be advantageous. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Confident managing difficult conversations and escalating overdue accounts when required. Highly organised with excellent attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and finance systems.
