A growing civil engineering and groundworks contractor is looking to appoint a Trainee Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join its commercial team in Sevenoaks. Part of a successful and financially strong group of construction businesses, this relatively new company has quickly established itself within the market and is continuing to grow steadily. With six live projects already underway and a strong pipeline of future work secured, the business is entering an exciting phase of expansion.

A key attraction of this role is the opportunity to work directly alongside and be mentored by an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with an extensive background in civil engineering and groundworks. You will receive hands‑on training across both Quantity Surveying and Estimating, providing an excellent platform for long‑term career development.
Key Responsibilities- Carrying out take‑offs and measurements from drawings and specifications
- Using Bluebeam to measure quantities and assist with estimating
- Assisting with tender submissions and pricing exercises
- Supporting procurement and subcontractor enquiries
- Assisting with valuations, variations and cost reporting
- Supporting monthly CVRs and commercial reporting
- Attending site visits and project meetings
- Assisting with subcontractor and supplier management
- Currently undertaking a day‑release or have completed an HNC in Construction or a related course
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Experience carrying out take‑offs and measurements from drawings
- Experience using Bluebeam or related software is preferred
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ambitious and keen to build a career within Quantity Surveying and Estimating
