Role DescriptionThis is a part-time, fixed-term maternity cover role for a well-qualified, efficient, enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of Biology. This is a well-organised and high-achieving department, which aims to nurture the students’ knowledge, skills and interests in all matters related to Science.
Qualifications and Experience- A degree in Biology
- Proven experience teaching Biology across Key Stages 3 to 5
- Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes in Biology
- Experience in teaching the Edexcel International GCSE and AQA A Level Biology courses
- Experience in organising and leading co-curricular activities related to Biology
- Experience in preparing students for Oxbridge entrance
- The ability to teach a second subject
- Strong subject knowledge in Biology and a passion for the subject
- Up-to-date knowledge of the Biology curriculum and examination requirements
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Proficiency in using ICT to enhance teaching and learning
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Knowledge of recent developments in Science education
- Experience in using data to monitor and improve student performance
- Ability to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies
- Enthusiastic and inspirational with a commitment to high standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to departmental and whole-school initiatives
- Commitment to continuous professional development
- A positive attitude and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Ability to organise a variety of events and activities for both our School and others in the wider community
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- Understanding of and adherence to the school's safeguarding policies and procedures.
