Position: Biology Teacher (Maternity Cover)

Role Description

This is a part-time, fixed-term maternity cover role for a well-qualified, efficient, enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of Biology. This is a well-organised and high-achieving department, which aims to nurture the students’ knowledge, skills and interests in all matters related to Science.

Qualifications and Experience
  • A degree in Biology
  • Proven experience teaching Biology across Key Stages 3 to 5
  • Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes in Biology
  • Experience in teaching the Edexcel International GCSE and AQA A Level Biology courses
  • Experience in organising and leading co-curricular activities related to Biology
  • Experience in preparing students for Oxbridge entrance
  • The ability to teach a second subject
Knowledge and Skills
  • Strong subject knowledge in Biology and a passion for the subject
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the Biology curriculum and examination requirements
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities
  • Excellent classroom management skills
  • Proficiency in using ICT to enhance teaching and learning
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Knowledge of recent developments in Science education
  • Experience in using data to monitor and improve student performance
  • Ability to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies
