Systems Engineer, Network Engineer
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Network Technician to join our growing infrastructure operations team. The role focuses on capacity scaling across data‑center locations and day‑to‑day network management, supporting internal customers and external vendors under the direction of Network Scaling Leadership and Technical Program Managers.
Key Job Responsibilities- Build first‑level router aggregates and the console network for new rooms, and support network scaling projects
- Manage any physical requirements and provide reasonable accommodations
- Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects
- Collaborate with stakeholder to remove project obstacles
- Troubleshoot networking, routing and inter‑connectivity issues, including network device configuration and low‑level application interaction
- Travel up to 60% within geographic work area; occasional external or international travel may be requested
- Troubleshoot cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords
- Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking for new equipment
- Participate in migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware
- Move and lift computer equipment up to 50 lbs
The team covers the entire Pennsylvania region, serving all sites inside and outside the perimeter. Travel is involved as we move capacity where it is needed. We are building a crew of Infrastructure Deployment Technicians to expand network and server capacity in the Philadelphia Region.
Basic Qualifications- 1+ years of computer networking experience
- 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience in computer networking
- Experience working with Linux operating systems
Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds - Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Can work in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health and safety guidelines
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
- Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment)
Base pay ranges from $55,900 per year in the lowest geographical market up to $125,100 per year in the highest. Total compensation may include equity, sign‑on payments, and other benefits.
