This position is in the Alaska Vocational Technical Teacher's Unit (AVTECTA).
What You Will Be DoingAVTEC, a division of the Department of Labor and Workforce Development, is recruiting for an AVTEC Instructor who will be responsible for planning, developing, and delivering instruction in the Diesel and Applied Technology programs as a Diesel Instructor. Duties include learning, maintaining and developing program curriculum; designing, building, and maintaining the practical industry-based labs and shop areas; facilitating program advisory board meetings;
and maintaining student training records.
AVTEC trains Alaskans for work in the trades. As a member of the staff at a division of the State of Alaska, you are employed by the State of Alaska and as such are offered paid leave accrual, retirement and health benefits. The nature of the calendar year at AVTEC provides opportunity to travel to remote locations to bring training to Alaskans. You and your dependents have access to AVTEC recreational facilities and AVTEC tuition waivers are available for your dependents for training.

OR SUBSTITUTION: a bachelor’s degree in the applicable field and two years of journey-level trade experience and two years of professional experience developing, coordinating, and presenting adult training or vocational education programs.
