LVN/LPN Position Available

LTC LVN/LPN position available. Previous travel experience is required. Candidates must have an active state license in hand. Shifts will be either days or nights based on facility needs. Caregivers are not asked to rotate between night and day shifts, with occasional exceptions for urgent staffing needs. The traveler's choice for 26-week or 13-week assignment. Patient ratios are 1:20. All caregivers are required to obtain the Alaska Food Worker Certification as a requirement of working in a long-term care facility.

Certification can be obtained during orientation on-site, with a one-time fee. No on-call requirements. Floating within scope to meet facility needs may be required. No block scheduling is available. Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside more than 50 miles away from the facility. Pending licenses are not accepted. Requests for time off must be sent with the application and are subject to approval.

Candidates must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's). Experience in long-term care is required. Skills include patient admission, ambulation, bathing, blood glucose monitoring/testing, and communication of patient status changes to RN/MD. Additional skills required: ear drops, eye drops, feeding tube care and management, foley catheter insertion, vital sign monitoring, and wound care.

Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities. Refusal to float may lead to termination of assignment. All RTO must be included in the submission process. References covering a full year during the compliance process are mandatory prior to the start.
