Family Nurse Practitioner

The provider will deliver comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages, including:

• Evaluation and treatment of acute illnesses and injuries
• Management of chronic medical conditions
• Preventive care and wellness visits
• Well-child exams and pediatric care
• Sports and employment physicals
• Urgent and walk-in care
• Ordering and interpretation of diagnostic testing
• Minor office procedures, including suturing and casting
• Development and implementation of treatment plans
• Coordination of care with specialists and community partners
• Participation in quality improvement initiatives
• Community outreach and patient education
• Accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record
• Collaboration with care coordination, behavioral health, and nursing teams

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
• Current Alaska license or ability to obtain licensure prior to employment
• Two years of clinical experience as a NP or PA
• Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
• National certification appropriate to profession and specialty
• Strong commitment to rural and community-based healthcare

• Five or more years of primary care experience
• Orthopedic or sports medicine experience
• Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or community health

center setting

• ACLS, PALS, and/or ATLS certification
