Cook I – Pursuit Collection

We are seeking a dedicated Cook I to join the Pursuit Collection’s culinary team, located in Kenai Fjords National Park. The position is a remote boat‑in role that supports multiple departments to provide guests with a consistent high‑quality dining experience.

Engage in preparing and cooking food for the Day Lodge or Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge and employee meals. Assist in coordinating daily kitchen operations, ensuring facilities are clean and safe, necessary supplies are on hand, and waste is minimized. Participate in emergency response activities and opening & closing duties.

• Provide excellent customer service to guests and other team members
• Make sound judgments and anticipate issues and opportunities
• Work closely with all other departments to ensure overall guest satisfaction
• Ensure that guests’ special needs are met
• Primarily responsible for preparing, cooking, and cleaning after all meals
• Maintain clean and sanitary food preparation facilities. Keep kitchen, food preparation and storage areas in strict adherence with health regulations
• Conduct other duties as required, including opening and closing duties
• Observe methods of food preparation and cooking, sizes of portions, and garnishing of foods to ensure food is prepared in prescribed manner
• Arrive to work on time, ready to work, dressed in clean uniform, with a neat and clean appearance
• Participate in emergency response activities including firefighting, emergency medical activities (within an employee’s training limitations) and other incidents
• Other duties as assigned

• Valid Alaska Food Handler’s Certification, Serv Safe Managers certificate preferred
• Knowledge of proper food handling and preparation standards
• Current CPR, First Aid
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Culinary School graduate or previous experience working as a cook in food service operations, or equivalent combination of experience and training
• Must be able to push, pull, carry and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, and greater weights on an occasional basis

The starting wage for this role is $19.00/hour.
