The Naugatuck Valley Health District is seeking a full-time Public Health Nurse. The Naugatuck Valley Health District is the local health department for the municipalities of Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Derby, Naugatuck, Seymour and Shelton, and serves a population of approximately 126,312.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse, BSN preferred. Public health or related experience desirable. Bi-Lingual a plus. Must have valid driver’s license. Training available as needed.
Responsibilities
As a key member of a community health team, the Public Health Nurse provides immunizations in the district towns; participates in disease surveillance, investigations and control measures including case and contact interventions; provides community outreach and education regarding timely public health issues; assists with health promotion and disease prevention activities; and works with staff members on the nursing aspects related to community and environmental health programs that ensure a healthy and safe population.
Compensation
This position has a competitive salary level commensurate with education and experience. This is a full-time position (35 hours per week) and is eligible for the benefits of a full-time employee consistent with the Personnel Policies of the Naugatuck Valley Health District.
