Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Repairs and maintains mechanical and electrical systems in accordance with schematic diagrams, blueprints, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s specifications and electrical code. Repairs machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines and equipment using hand tools, power tools and precision-measuring and testing instruments.
Diagnoses and repairs malfunctioning equipment and/or faulty electronic components, such as transformers, motors, lighting fixtures, circuit boards, sensors, etc. Replaces damaged wires and cables, faulty electrical components such as relays and switches.
Reports machine nonconformities that may affect product quality.
Performs other assigned duties as necessary.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDSExposure to loud noise levels, dust, heat and cold, and various chemicals while in plant area (lubricants, cutting fluids, drawing oils, etc.). Must be able to work in various environmental conditions -- from under equipment to rooftop in all types of weather, and in confined space to heights of the building. Safety shoes, earplugs and safety glasses are a requirement to be worn at all times while in the plant.
EDUCATIONREQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
One to two years technical training or experience, plus three to five years maintenance experience preferred. Must be computer literate and have Microsoft Office skills. Ability to use various hand and power tools required.
