Position SummaryThe successful candidate will perform vehicle maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance on heavy‑duty trucks, ensuring compliance with safety and corporate guidelines. The role includes diagnosing mechanical and electronic issues using diagnostic computers, interacting with drivers, and completing supporting shop duties.
Compensation, Benefits & Schedule- Hourly Pay: $35.00 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification (up to $700)
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 each quarter
- Reefer Experience Required (608 certification)
- Schedule:
Sunday–Thursday, first shift 8:00 am–4:30 pm - Annual Merit Pay increases each year

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Post‑secondary vocational education strongly preferred
- Minimum tool set required
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid CDL license (A) desired; mandatory in some locations
- State license as required
- Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months of hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from prior employers for the last 3 years
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Carry out standard vehicle maintenance tasks
- Inspect and repair components
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers when applicable
- Identify root causes of failures or conditions and perform required repairs
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Carry out facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers and drivers to determine the nature of complaints once a task is assigned
- Utilize key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation
- Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
- Perform other support duties as required, such as Service Island support
