Position Summary

The Summer at Laurel Instructor operates on Laurel’s Lyman Campus in Shaker Heights and Butler Campus in Novelty. Summer camp operates Monday through Friday 9:00-4:00 from June 8
- July 31st in one and two week sessions. The Summer at Laurel program is a co-ed program which serves students from 2 years through rising 8th grade. Summer at Laurel instructors work closely with the Camp Coordinators to ensure a safe, nurturing, fun and efficient Summer program. This is a seasonal position that requires at least a two week commitment.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Monitor students in the camp group they are assigned to and provide a safe and fun experience for all campers.
  • Change diapers and assist in toilet training, as needed.
  • When transporting campers from one location to another, always ensure all campers are accounted for before departing and after arrival.
  • Consistently enforce policies and procedures
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety in all activities for campers
  • Lead group activities, such as crafts, field trips, special events, and outdoor activities.
  • Encourage hygienic practices, such as handwashing, and assist in clean-up.
  • Be in attendance Monday through Friday, 8:30-4:00 p.m. daily.
  • Assist in other duties as assigned.
Requirements

The successful candidate must have experience in working with children. Candidates currently or previously employed as a teacher are highly desirable. Must be First Aid/CPR certified or willing to get certified.
