Salary Range: $80K-$100K

Overview: The Data Scientist supports administrative and clinical leaders and teams focused on achieving the Quadruple Aim. The individual in this role is responsible for executing projects that require the full data science pipeline, including data integration, mining, statistical modeling, advanced analytics, visualization, and results presentation to support strategic objectives.

• Lead discovery and requirements gathering with key clinical and business stakeholders to inform analytic plans.
• Collaboratively co‑create, develop, deploy, optimize, and maintain advanced analytics and data science techniques to enrich disparate datasets and craft data‑driven interventions aimed at achieving the Quadruple Aim.
• Research, design, develop, and implement statistical models and advanced analytics to support key strategic initiatives.
• Develop and deploy innovative analytic solutions for Analytics‑As‑a‑Service dashboards, rapid‑fire flash reports, and other customized reporting distribution solutions.
• Visualize data creatively to bring insights to life and make them consumable in the operational workflow of end‑users.
• Utilize diverse data sources such as EHR data, insurance claims, scheduling, financial, social determinants, and other relevant sources to support clinical transformation and system operations strategy.
• Develop purpose‑driven data marts in Alteryx and SQL environments (on‑premise and Microsoft Azure).
• Assess effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and gathering techniques.
• Collaborate with IT to support data architecture of diverse datasets, converging disparate systems into repositories fit for algorithmic development and model training.
• Evaluate business performance and monitor critical operational measures related to shared savings arrangements and value‑based programs with payors.
• Propose and develop novel solutions to UH data science problems, demonstrate feasibility, and adapt them to real‑world clinical care contexts.
• Support analytics and scientific exploration related to risk modeling, financial performance, and quality of care for managed populations.
• Create technical interfaces to deploy simplified analytics directly to provider portals, websites, or mobile applications.
• Develop documentation, support tools, and infrastructure to enable analysts and leaders to extract meaning from health‑care data effectively and rapidly.
• Develop processes and tools to monitor & analyze model performance and data accuracy; provide ad‑hoc analysis and visualizations.
• Engage, mentor, co‑create, cross‑train, and learn from colleagues to promote a collaborative environment with applied process learning.
• Maintain fluency in existing and emerging data science technologies, and complete coursework or independent study to fill knowledge gaps as needed.
• Serve as the technical lead focusing on creative use of diverse data sources to support clinical and business processes.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Sociology, Public Health, or a related quantitative or social science discipline (Required).
• 3+ years of experience working with complex analytic situations or large‑data environments (Required).
