Job Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal business in accordance with company guidelines and risk appetite
  • Develop and implement risk assessment models to make informed decisions on coverage, pricing, and terms
  • Communicate underwriting strategies and decisions effectively to internal teams, agents, and brokers
  • Monitor and evaluate underwriting practices, assisting with strategic adjustments to improve effectiveness and outcomes

    Build and maintain business relationships with internal and external customers to attract and retain profitable business
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Liberal Arts, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 9 years of experience in Underwriting Commercial Property & Casualty lines
  • Ability to obtain a P&C Insurance License within the first 6 months of employment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software quickly
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • P&C Insurance License preferred but not required for hire
  • Experience in developing and implementing risk assessment models
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms
  • Strong relationship-building skills with agents and brokers
  • Experience in a leadership or coaching role within underwriting teams
