Position: PRN Home Study Specialist

SAFY is seeking PRN Home Study Specialists for our SAFY division in Cleveland, OH
. As a Home Study Specialist, you will be responsible for the licensing of foster parents as well as adoptive parents, where as defined by annual goals.

What

You’ll Do
  • Perform home study of prospective treatment parent(s) and their home environment according to SAFY policy and specific requirements of the state.
  • Maintain creativity, flexibility, and optimism about the strengths of the family.
  • Complete home studies for SAFY families after at least three home visits/family interviews.
  • Determine appropriateness of prospective foster parents and the best placement type.
  • Effectively engage all members of a potential foster family.
  • Address sensitive and/or personal topics with prospective foster parents.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in the field of social work, sociology, psychology, guidance counseling, child & family studies, education, criminal justice, business administration, public administration, or other related field of human services.
  • Three years of experience in working with domestic and/or international adoptions OR three years of experience in social work in a child welfare environment preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record and auto insurance coverage to meet travel requirements; may require transporting youth if needed.
What We Offer
  • A total of $650.00 per completed home study will be paid to employee.
  • Training rate is $17.50/hr
  • If a Home Study Specialist is unable to complete a home study due to the assigned families’ indisposition, criminal background disqualifier, or other unforeseen circumstances that are to no fault of the Home Study Specialist, the Home Study Specialist will be paid a partial fee:

Example

1 st Visit - $162.50

2 nd Visit - $162.50

3 rd Visit - $162.50

4 th Visit - $162.50

Additional Information
  • During your employment, you will be expected to complete and maintain all training, certification or licensure that is a requirement for your position. Failure to meet these expectations may result in the loss or reclassification of your position.
