Overview
Tech - Pharmacy - Animal Health role at MWI Animal Health. The position reports to the pharmacist and supports dispensing prescription drug products to end-users, with compliance to regulatory requirements.

Work/Shift
Hours:
Monday–Friday 9am–5pm or until the job is complete
- Retrieves and labels prescription drug products.
- Prepares prescription orders following pharmacist verification for shipment.
- Maintains pharmacy inventory and organizes medications and supplies.
- Keeps the work environment tidy and compliant with pharmacy standards.
- Maintains licensure and eligibility for participation in an approved technician-in-training program where required.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and navigating stairs as needed to process orders.
- Communicates effectively with customers and may access, input, and retrieve information from pharmacy computers.
- Assists pharmacist with patient consultations and refers veterinary and customer inquiries to the pharmacist.
- Demonstrates knowledge of pharmacy layout, basic warehouse processes, RF scanning, and order routing by mode of transportation (MOT).
- Stages orders for pharmacist verification and ensures proper labeling and organization for packing and shipping.
- Ensures orders are checked by a pharmacist and understands the process for final verification.
- Delivers toted orders for packing and shipping based on MOT; differentiates prescription-only from combined orders as required.
- Answers intercom calls, identifies as a pharmacy technician, and handles calls appropriately.
- Maintains scheduling availability to meet business needs, including overtime as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED completed
- National Pharmacy Technician certification required in states where mandated by the Pharmacy Board and preferred where not mandated
- Must be unrestricted and licensed or registered in the resident state as required, OR eligible for participation in an approved employer technician training program within six months of hire to obtain the State Board Pharmacy Technician license
- One or more years of related pharmacy experience is an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Salary Range: $37,900 - $54,120 (national average). Final range may vary by locale; some locations may be up to 10% lower or 12% higher depending on state-specific factors.
