Comm Scope is recruiting a Product Line Manager for our Passive Optical Devices Business across service provider, hyperscale, enterprise and data center markets.
We are looking for an industry leader with a strong business development mindset and a hunter mentality who actively seeks new opportunities, challenges conventional thinking, creates market momentum, and drives profitable growth. This individual should be equally comfortable engaging customers, influencing strategy, identifying acquisition or partnership opportunities, and building the business beyond its current footprint.
How You'll Help Us Connect the World- Manage the product life cycle. Accountability for the product lines P&L, including revenue attainment, gross margin and operating income. Supports sales and marketing efforts by leading research of market opportunities and competitors with existing product line in assigned markets. Manage and develop sales and marketing presentations where additional technical expertise is required on specific solutions, applications, architectures, or assigned markets. Responsible for providing expertise and maintaining product evaluations on competitive product offers and acts as main customer contact on issues related to the product.
- Through close contact with target market and customers, responsible for new product visioning and idea generation. Attends trade shows, reviews market / trade publications and interfaces with sales workforce. Participates in technology and product roadmap development. Develops business cases for new product development including financial evaluations (RR, ROI, OPP, Cost), competitive and market analyses, customer needs, critical success factors, sales justifications, and other business case components.
Defines target markets / customers and product positioning. - Develops product definition including price, cost and performance objectives, reliability and functional features, manufacturability, and life cycle forecasts. Identifies and selects sales channels to distribute products to targeted markets / customers. Develops new production introduction plan.
- Responsible for the launch of new products. Initiates and participates in the development of all marketing collateral material. Establishes sales promotions and special incentive programs. Prepares technical databases for proposal generation. Develops and conducts product, market and application training. Ensures successful transition to manufacturing. Supports sales through joint sales calls. Conducts product review meetings. Establishes and monitors product introduction budget.
