Role DescriptionKEB America is seeking a Business Development Manager to develop and grow business across its industrial automation product portfolio.
This is an individual-contributor technical sales role, not a people-management position
. The ideal candidate combines an engineering background with proven sales capability and the communication skills, persistence, and commercial mindset required to navigate complex, consultative sales cycles.
KEB's products are integrated into larger industrial applications, creating a sales process that commonly takes six months to a year
. This person will work closely with customers to understand their applications, identify opportunities for KEB technology, and develop long-term business relationships.
- Develop new business opportunities for assigned industrial automation product lines.
- Build and grow relationships with prospective and existing customers.
- Understand customer applications and identify opportunities for KEB products and solutions.
- Manage customer relationships throughout complex, consultative sales cycles.
- Grow newer product opportunities while developing established customer relationships.
- Partner closely with application engineers to provide customers with technical expertise and application support.
- Prepare and deliver customer proposals, presentations, and technical sales discussions.
- Travel to customer and prospect locations throughout North America.
- Represent KEB at industry events and trade shows.
- Maintain persistence and momentum across sales opportunities that may take six months to a year to develop.
- Take ownership of business development for assigned product lines rather than a traditional geographic sales territory.
- Strong technical knowledge of industrial automation, controls, drives, motion control, or related engineered products.
- Proven sales or business development experience, ideally involving complex technical or engineered products.
- Ability to understand customer applications and communicate effectively with engineering and manufacturing stakeholders.
- Experience with consultative, long-cycle sales strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to develop new customer relationships and grow business opportunities.
- Strong presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable collaborating with technical specialists and application engineers throughout the sales process.
- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50%, primarily throughout the U.S. with some potential North American travel.
This position is well suited for someone who understands both sides of technical sales: the engineering behind an application and the relationship required to turn that opportunity into business
.
KEB's sales organization is structured around product lines rather than solely geographic territories. The role provides an opportunity to take ownership of technical product areas, develop new business, and grow relationships with existing customers.
The position combines the resources and technical expertise of an established global automation manufacturer with the opportunity to directly influence growth in developing product markets.
