Main Position Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and repair electronic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems; diagnose and fix issues with chains, belts, rollers, conveyors, palletizers, and inspection equipment.
- Repair and maintain electrical, mechanical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment using a variety of hand tools, power tools, welding and cutting equipment, and lubricants.
- Perform work related to skilled trades, including carpentry, painting, and installation/maintenance of utility lines (gas, water, air) and general plumbing.
- Inspect, install, relocate, repair and maintain plant electrical equipment (motors, switch boxes, panels, instruments, starters, control devices, power circuits, feeders).
- Install, move, repair and maintain mechanical and electronic selecting devices; remove, install, repair and check plant mechanical devices and equipment.
- Cut, braze and weld various metals for construction of forms, guardrails, catwalks, runways, stairs, etc.
- Collaborate with furnace line personnel to install and adjust oil burners; follow preventative maintenance programs to inspect plant equipment.
- Work in a manufacturing environment with a focus on maintaining reliability, safety and quality.
Individuals will be trained Monday-Friday 7am-3pm and then assigned to rotating shifts. Rotating shifts include 7 days of 8am-4pm, 3 days off; 7 days of 12am-8am, 2 days off; and 7 days of 4pm-12am, with 2 days off, in a 28-day cycle.
Apprenticeship DetailsThe apprenticeship is an 8,000-hour program governed by federally approved national standards. Hires must complete a minimum of 144 hours of approved classroom training each twelve months, conducted by local technical schools. Classes are taken during non-working hours and are unpaid; all courses, textbooks and fees are funded by Anchor Glass Container.
