Job Summary:

$20,000 Sign-on bonus for eligible applicants! This posting reflects an opening for a CT Technologist I. Geisinger reserves the right to consider applicants for higher levels of this role, including CT Technologist II, based on skills, qualifications, and experience. Computed Tomography (CT) Technologists are responsible for administering ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. They perform computed tomography and molecular imaging procedures, acquire and analyze data for diagnosis, interpretation, and perform interventional and therapeutic procedures as requested by licensed practitioners. CT Technologists independently perform or assist in completing these procedures, prepare, administer, and document activities related to medications and radiation exposure in accordance with laws and policies.

Job Duties
  • Ensure correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared, and clinical history is documented while respecting confidentiality.
  • Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, maximize patient safety, and apply ALARA principles.
  • Prepare and/or administer medications through vascular access sites as prescribed.
  • Evaluate images for proper positioning and quality, verify archival storage and data transfer, and post-process data if applicable.
  • Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers.
  • Assist licensed practitioners with interventional CT procedures.
  • Perform CT procedures as prescribed.
  • Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. The role requires compliance with organizational policies and procedures. Additional competencies outlined in department-specific orientation are essential for job performance.

    Position Details
    • Certification by ARRT or NMTCB upon hire.
    • New graduates must obtain ARRT-R or NMTCB certification prior to employment.
    • Applicants hired after March 10, 2024, must complete steps for advancing to level 2 within 24 months.

    Education & Experience
    • Graduate from Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology.
    • Certified Radiology Technologist by ARRT.
