The successful candidate will provide academic and strategic leadership for Science across the middle school years, fostering a culture of scientific curiosity, inquiry-based learning and academic excellence. With a particular emphasis on Physics or Chemistry, the postholder will lead curriculum development, support high-quality teaching and learning, and inspire students to explore scientific concepts through practical investigation, critical thinking and real-world applications.
As a bilingual educational environment, the school places strong emphasis on delivering an engaging and accessible curriculum in both Chinese and English. The successful candidate must therefore be confident teaching Science in both Chinese and English, supporting students in developing scientific knowledge, subject-specific vocabulary and the ability to communicate scientific ideas across languages.

Position Requirements

work experience We are seeking an accomplished Science educator with proven leadership experience and a strong commitment to student-centred teaching. The ideal candidate will have a subject specialism in Physics or Chemistry, excellent curriculum knowledge and the ability to lead and develop a team of teachers. They will be fluent in both Chinese and English, with the ability to teach confidently in both languages.
Experience in bilingual education, curriculum design and inquiry-based learning would be highly advantageous. The successful candidate will be organised, collaborative and committed to nurturing students' scientific understanding, curiosity and academic confidence.

Qualifications and Experience
- A degree in Science, Physics, Chemistry or a closely related discipline, with a preference for candidates specialising in Physics or Chemistry.
- A recognised teaching qualification, such as PGCE, QTS or an equivalent qualification.
- Significant experience teaching Science at middle school or lower secondary level.
- Demonstrable experience in subject leadership, curriculum coordination or team management.
- Fluency in both Chinese and English, with the ability to teach Science effectively in both languages.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum planning, assessment, practical science and inquiry-based teaching approaches.
- Experience developing bilingual teaching resources and supporting students learning scientific concepts across languages would be an advantage.
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop colleagues.
- A commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing and inclusive educational practice.
