Accountant - Construction

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant with a solid background in contracting and construction accounting to join our client's team in Sharjah. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations, handling project cost accounting, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.

• Manage daily accounting transactions including payables, receivables, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Track project costs, analyze variances, and ensure accurate job costing and cost control.
• Handle subcontractor payments, supplier reconciliations, and retentions.
• Manage VAT compliance, filing, and documentation.
• Process payroll and maintain accurate records of salaries, benefits, and deductions.
• Maintain general ledger and ensure timely month-end closing.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Coordinate with external auditors and support the audit process.
• Ensure compliance with UAE tax laws and relevant regulations.

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 3-4 years of accounting experience in the construction or contracting sector in Sharjah.
• Strong understanding of project-based accounting and cost control.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, Quick Books, Zoho, or ERP systems).
• Knowledge of UAE VAT laws and compliance procedures.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
