Senior Engine Technician Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Diagnose engine mechanical faults accurately before dismantling.
• Carry out engine repair, timing work, cylinder head work, gasket replacement, oil leak repairs, overheating repairs, and complete engine overhaul jobs.
• Work on Mercedes-Benz engines and other European brands including BMW, Audi, Land Rover, and similar vehicles.
• Perform compression tests, leak‑down tests, cooling system pressure tests, oil pressure checks, and mechanical inspections.
• Identify root causes of engine failures such as overheating, oil starvation, timing issues, coolant‑oil mixing, misfires, compression loss, and abnormal engine noise.
• Dismantle and assemble engines using correct procedures, tools, torque specifications, timing tools, and cleanliness standards.
• Inspect engine components including cylinder head, pistons, valves, timing chain guides, camshafts, crankshaft bearings, oil pump, and related parts.
• Carry out engine timing accurately and verify timing before starting the engine.
• Use diagnostic tools to support mechanical diagnosis before and after repair.
• Communicate repair findings clearly to the service advisor workshop team.
• Support junior technicians when required.
• Maintain workshop cleanliness, tool discipline, and quality control standards.
• Carry out post‑repair checks, road tests, and final inspections to reduce comebacks.

• The right candidate should be a technician with real mechanical sense, not only a parts replacer.
• He should be able to understand why an engine failed, identify the actual root cause, and recommend the correct repair method.
• Values proper diagnosis, correct repair procedures, cleanliness, and long‑term reliability.
