Position Overview
Land Surveyor - Infrastructure in Sharjah Emirate, United Arab Emirates is a Civil Engineering opportunity for an experienced surveying professional who can perform land surveys, field measurements, geodetic calculations, setting‑out checks, and site inspection support for major infrastructure and roads projects. This role is suited for a detail‑focused surveyor with strong knowledge of construction sequences, survey equipment, CAD software, GPS systems, and safe site practices.

- Perform land surveys, field surveys, geodetic calculations, and structural inspection activities on assigned project sites.
- Check setting‑out, levels, alignments, benchmarks, control points and survey references in line with project requirements.
- Interface with clients and contractors to determine, clarify, and verify survey requirements for infrastructure and road works.
- Complete survey tasks according to approved schedules, man‑hour allocations and cost control expectations.
- Check service locations and ensure existing utilities, underground services and site assets are identified and protected.
- Prepare field sketches, survey notes, calculation records and supporting documents for site activities.
- Maintain accurate survey information, including field books, sketches, calculations, survey data and inspection records.
- Measure completed work when required to support progress verification, quantity checks and project documentation.
- Assist in the preparation and verification of as‑built drawings.
- Use CAD software, survey software, total stations, data collectors and GPS equipment for field and office survey tasks.
- Apply working knowledge of construction sequences and standard industry procedures during survey inspections.
- Coordinate with engineers, inspectors, contractors and project teams to resolve survey‑related issues on site.
- Observe site safety procedures and comply with all project health and safety requirements.
- Participate positively in health and safety matters as required by the Resident Engineer and project Safety Representative.
- Report survey discrepancies, site constraints, unsafe conditions and technical concerns to the relevant project team.
- Support infrastructure, roads, tunnels, underpasses and related civil works through accurate survey control and field verification.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with the position as required by project management.
- BSc degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure and roads projects, preferably including tunnels or underpasses.
- Knowledge and experience in CAD software, survey software, total station, data collectors and GPS equipment.
- Working knowledge of construction sequences, infrastructure site procedures, road works and standard industry practices.
- Previous experience working with MCC is preferred.
- Strong understanding of setting‑out, level checks, utility protection, field measurements, sketches and survey calculations.
- Good oral and written communication skills for coordination with management, staff, clients, contractors and site teams.
- Ability to communicate logically and clearly during technical discussions and site coordination.
- Commitment to safe work practices and active participation in site health and safety requirements.
- Accurate, organized and able to maintain survey records, field books, calculations and inspection documentation.
- Able to work effectively in a construction site environment with deadlines, field constraints and multidisciplinary teams.
