Job Summary
Responsible for operating and assisting with paver machine operations for road and infrastructure projects. The Screwman controls and adjusts the screed system to maintain the required paving width, thickness, level, slope, and alignment. Works closely with the Paver Operator, Grade Checker, Surveyor, and Foreman to ensure smooth and accurate asphalt laying according to project specifications.
Experience with
asphalt paver machines and road construction projects is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and adjust the screed system of asphalt paver machines during road paving operations.
- Maintain the required paving width, thickness, level, slope, and alignment
. - Monitor asphalt material flow and ensure a smooth and uniform paving surface.
- Work closely with the Paver Operator, Grade Checker, Surveyor, and Foreman
. - Make necessary screed adjustments according to site conditions and project requirements.
- Monitor the screed and paving performance throughout the operation.
- Assist in maintaining proper asphalt temperature, material distribution, and paving quality.
- Carry out basic cleaning and maintenance of the screed and related equipment.
- Identify and report any machine or paving issues to the Paver Operator or Foreman.
- Follow all HSE procedures and site safety requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Screwman / Screed Operator on asphalt paver machines.
- Good knowledge of asphalt paving, screed adjustment, levels, slopes, and paving thickness
. - Experience in road and infrastructure projects
. - Ability to work effectively with Paver Operators, Grade Checkers, Surveyors, and site teams.
- Good understanding of paving quality and surface finishing.
- GCC/UAE road construction experience will be an advantage.
