Parsons Corporation is seeking a Safety Manager in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates to oversee HSE compliance for infrastructure project activities. The role is responsible for implementing corporate HSE requirements, monitoring contractor safety performance, reviewing safety and emergency plans, assessing risk controls, and helping ensure site activities comply with applicable legal, client, and regional safety requirements.

- Implement corporate HSE policies, project HSE plans, applicable legislation, and other established safety requirements.
- Monitor HSE performance and targets and recommend measures for continued improvement.
- Verify that client safety requirements are being fulfilled throughout project activities.
- Liaise with safety management personnel and contractors to support the implementation and improvement of corporate HSE management practices.
- Monitor contractors to confirm that applicable site safety measures are implemented in accordance with legal and client requirements.
- Review contractor submissions including site safety plans, emergency plans, and other HSE-related documentation.
- Review method statements and risk analyses for project activities and assess the effectiveness of proposed hazard-control measures.
- Conduct HSE inspections and report matters requiring immediate corrective action to the Resident Engineer.
- Review and monitor contractors ' monthly HSE inspections and reports.
- Conduct monthly safety meetings, establish targets for outstanding issues, prepare meeting minutes, and follow up on agreed actions.
- Review emergency preparedness and response arrangements, permit-to-work systems, toolbox talks, HSE statistics, and contractor safety records.
- Review contractor incident and accident investigation reports.
- Communicate lessons learned from incidents and monitor immediate and follow-up corrective actions intended to minimize recurrence.
- Bachelor 's degree in a construction-related engineering discipline or Occupational Safety and Health.
- Internationally approved safety training or courses.
- Minimum 12 years of experience as a Safety Engineer on infrastructure projects in the UAE.
- Recognized health and safety certification, licensing, or training applicable in the UAE, such as ISO, NEBOSH, First Aid, or Fire Safety credentials.
- Ability to attend in-person interviews.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of applicable federal laws and technical guidelines.
- Working knowledge of Sharjah Emirate regulations relevant to project health and safety.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, project engineers, safety personnel, and other project stakeholders.
The Safety Manager provides project-level oversight of contractor HSE performance and helps maintain a structured approach to hazard control, inspections, incident follow-up, and regulatory compliance. Particular attention is given to identifying safety concerns early, tracking corrective actions, and ensuring that project safety documentation and working practices remain aligned with established requirements.
