Procurement Engineer – Civil

GECO is looking for a Procurement Engineer – Civil to manage and support procurement activities for civil construction projects, ensuring materials, subcontractor packages and services are sourced competitively, efficiently and in line with project requirements.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in civil construction procurement and be comfortable handling significant procurement volumes across multiple packages and suppliers.

• Manage end-to-end procurement activities for civil construction projects from enquiry through purchase order and delivery.
• Handle procurement volumes of approximately AED 20 million per month across multiple civil packages.
• Manage procurement of RCC / Concrete, Steel Structures and Civil Subcontractor Packages.
• Source and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors based on technical capability, commercial competitiveness, quality and delivery performance.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations, prepare commercial comparisons and support negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Coordinate closely with Project, Engineering, QS and Site teams to understand project requirements, specifications and delivery schedules.
• Ensure materials and services are procured within approved budgets and project timelines.
• Review technical and commercial offers and coordinate with relevant stakeholders for approvals.
• Develop and maintain a reliable supplier and subcontractor network for civil works.
• Follow up on purchase orders, delivery schedules and material availability to avoid project delays.
• Monitor market prices and identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, approved procedures and project requirements.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, trackers and documentation for reporting and audit purposes.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Procurement or a related field.
• 5+ years of procurement experience within civil construction, EPC or contracting companies.
• Strong hands‑on experience in civil materials and subcontractor procurement.
• Proven experience handling procurement volumes of approximately AED 20 million per month.
• Strong exposure to RCC / Concrete, Steel Structures and Civil Subcontractor Packages.
• Good understanding of the UAE construction and supplier market.
• Strong commercial negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Ability to evaluate quotations and prepare commercial comparisons.
• Good coordination skills with Project, Engineering, QS and Site teams.
• Strong communication, negotiation and follow‑up skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and procurement / ERP systems.
